At Your Service!
Thursday, March 13, 2008

Once a wise man by the name of Rev. Dr. AR Bernard said that: " We are servants and leadership is only a position we hold by serving." Soon after, another wise man by the name of Suraj said: "We can pull out the better of the person we serve." Not forgetting the great man of all times Rev. Dr. Kong Hee also preached on the sermon on servanthood about the GREATEST MAN of all times JESUS lived his life out as a servant proves it all... that is you got to SERVE!

To be a good servant, of course you must learn to give a good service! You do not "suddenly" become a good servant! You've got to learn it! So thank you Sister Karen Chua for giving us (FODs & ACC staff) the lessons of "At your service!" It's really a saving grace for me. Thank you so much!

Matt 20:26
26 But among you it should be quite different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, NLT

Wanna lead?! Serve first! But of course you can serve without the heart of servanthood. Then the quote below is for you...

"There's little difference in people, but that little difference makes a big difference. The little difference is attitude. The big difference is whether it is positive or negative."
- W. Clement Stone

So, if your attitude stinks, most likely your outcomes is going to stink too uh!

You can tell whether becoming a servant by how you act when people treat you like one.
-Gordon MacDonald

Let's always learn to serve...

Audacious Faith

Wednesday, February 27, 2008

Pastor Ming shared a great word on Tuesday devotion session at suntec. It really blew my mind! Simply awesome =) This is only a glimpse of the sharing...

2 Cor 5:7
7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.
NKJV

Faith is a walk as

1) It is always progressive
2) It is natural (walking is very natural to man)
3) It is not by sight as we should not live by man's opinion

Faith is connected with

1) Relationship with God
2) Dependency on God
3) Hearing the Word of God

Mark 5:25-34
25 Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years,

26 and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse.

27 When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment.

28 For she said, "If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well."

29 Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction.

30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, "Who touched My clothes?" NKJV

There are so much questions about this passage:

1) Did the woman fulfill the criterias of faith?
2) Why does the woman touch the helm of the garment?
3) Why does she come from behind to touch Jesus?
4) Why does Jesus says:"Who touched My clothes?"

Wanna know why? Ask me then! You think i will post such a great sermon just like that? My Cell Group members will have a chance to hear this full sermon preached to them "live" from Rev.Dr. Jimmy Yong. Put on your seatbelts guys!

Fear

Saturday, February 23, 2008

1 John 4:18
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. NKJV

Perfect love cast out fear... this is a verse that causes a tinge at the back of my memory lane... Only He who loves, can help to cast out fear that is in you. You will never be able to cast out fear by yourself. Man fears because of selfishness.

Only way to break free from fear is to receive love. Love is unselfishness, giving to benefit others at the expense of self. Choose unselfishness, choose love, choose freedom.

The greatest love, love of God, giving His only Son for the freedom of man.
